Violins of Hope - Impressions from Berlin

Images of the Concert on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day

The concert on January 27 was staged in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic. The violinists played on the “Violins of Hope”, instruments which were originally performed by Jews suffering persecution. They have since been rescued and painstakingly restored by Amnon Weinstein, a Tel Aviv-based violin maker. The concert included compositions by Gustav Mahler, Joseph Achron and Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as the premiere of “Violins of Hope”, a composition by Ohad Ben-Ari and commissioned by the Foundation of the Berlin Philharmonic.
