Turbine in Israel

 

The players of one of Germany’s top female football teams, 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam, are going to Israel.

 

The 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam women’s football team will be in Israel from 18 to 23 January. The occasion is the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and Israel – and will be marked by a friendly against the Israeli women’s U19 team in Herzliya on 20 January. Before its departure, the Israeli ambassador Yakov Hadas-Handelsman, an avowed fan, greeted the team at a reception in Berlin.

 

The players in the team, which has won the Champions League twice and the German championship no less than six times, will take time to visit Yad Vashem and Jerusalem, and there also firm plans for a trip to the Dead Sea.
